Golden Road -- Ride/Route Information??

Can anyone give me information about riding Maine's Golden Road from Greeneville, ME traveling north)? A friend and I want to ride it this weekend but have very little information about the route -- distance, travel time, road conditions, possible camp sites, regulations, necessary permits, etc.

Any information (including route way points) would be much appreciated. Thanks.
