Tools to never leave home without.
I always bring my tire repair kit in my tank bag. It consists of 'sticky rope' with the proper reaming and insertion tools, a tire pressure gage, and a 'modified' 12 volt compressor that can plug into the socket on most later model BMW's. They all fit in a Crown Royal bag. Details available on how make one.

Eric,

That is certainly excellent advise! But, what happened to the Crown Royal? <kidding> I carry the same type of kit with me, minus the Crown Royal bag.

I also suggest that people carry some kind of small first aid kit. I have had occasion to use mine several times. Fortunately, the uses weren't at any bike accidents, but during travels have needed band aids or a few other things contained within the kit. Aerostich has a nice little compact kit, but someone could easily make their own (and even store it in a Crown Royal bag!). A few different sized bandaids, some guaze pads, I have some "EMT scissors" that can cut about anything (including cutting through a penny). A small tube of anti-biotic cream, a roll of guaze wrap and some kind of medical tape. Of course there are several other things that could go in there depending on how big you want it to be.

Another thing I have on my bike is a card in with my registration and inspection sticker. This card has info about me and who to notify in case of emergency. I think you can get these very cheap at Whitehorse Press and it could be invaluable in case of an emergency.

Anyone else have suggestions for items you shouldn't leave home without?

Ride Safe,

Don

Remember to add your favorite headache pills to the first aid kit. Mine is always in the bottom of my tank bag.
