Hope for the Vertically Challenged Rider.....
I was reading on the BMWMOA forum a while ago about possible solutions for short people (like me) that are not able to make a good solid foot placement when they bring their bike to a stop. One suggestion was to take your motorcycle boots to a shoe repairman and have him/her resole your boots with thicker soles to give you added height. The guy that wrote the entry swears by it. We'll see. I took my BMW all around boots to Roy's Shoe repair on Stevens Ave in Portland and he's going to resole them to give me an additional 3/4 of an inch of height with a vibram sole. I'll let you know how it works out when I get them back in March. Don

RE: Hope for the Vertically Challenged Rider.....
I got my boots back from Roy's Shoe Repair in Portland today. He added 3/4-1 inch to the soles of my BMW all around boots. If you look closely you can see where the original soles end and the addition begins.
Here are the photos: ![]() ![]() This should work out fine. Best of luck folks. Don |

RE: Hope for the Vertically Challenged Rider.....
I took out my RT for the first time today and wore these boots. They make a huge difference in how much
of a foothold I have at stops. Well worth the $90 to feel safer and more stable. Don |
